Ah my lover I remember you

Kisses sweet as candy

Yes my lover I remember as I strew

Your ashes to the floor.

I really like this work by Gonzales Torres-the sweets representing the decay of a life -it really strikes a chord. This striking a chord business seems to be what its all about.

Ephemera as grief

But we are alone and we are dying
Sorrows, sorrows, joys and tears
Our moments pass us by,
Bookmarked by our fears.
This piece by Gonzales Torres is hauntingly beautiful given the backdrop of the artists death. I wonder if the photo of the girl passing was just serendipity.

Question:
What is ephemerality?

Answer:
Something God does very well....now how long did you say we have?

Gestures Michael Horsnall August 2006 : two seconds and a lifetime.

How long does it take to make a gesture? Is it a few seconds or is it the lifetime that makes a single gesture, gives it life, grants authenticity to the movement?

Gestures: Dianna Lynn Thompson Vancouver 2004: Several hours.
